Air Experience Days

If you want the perfect gift, or want to see if flying is for you, then our air experience packages will suit you. Choose from a 45 minute or 1 hour flight with a qualified Cloudbase instructor, where you will take the controls and fly over the beautiful English countryside.

Flight Training

You will receive high-quality flying lessons in a friendly environment. You will be guided from never having set foot in a light aircraft, to your first solo-flight, until you finally receive your pilot's licence. Flying training at Cloudbase can be acheived in only 25 hours.

Own A Plane

You can own a 1/20th share in one of our high-speed microlights. This means you will be able to fly for the fraction of the price, and all the maintenance, insurance and hangarage of the aircraft is done for you - you just show up and fly where you want!

Cloudbase Flying Club

Join the club! You will feel very welcome in our flying community. If you have any question about flying, there a loads of Cloudbase members that will help you and give you sound advice. The club arranges lots of social events and club 'fly-out' days so get involved!

I have wanted to learn to fly since being a teenager but never felt that I could either afford or felt that I could do it. I then discovered microlights, and realised that this could be my way in. I've done the majority of my flight training with Cloudbase and I am enjoying the experience and look forward to my first solo flight which should be soon I hope. My instructor Phil is a great guy and easy to get along with. He is highly experienced and has trained many pilots! This inspires my confidence and enables me to relax and enjoy flying. We fly the excellent CT2K, G-CDJF. It is spacious with plenty room for my long legs! I hope to complete my training soon and buy a share in the Cloudbase's  G-KUPP, a CTSW that I've flown a few times. On the ground, I enjoy spending time with the Cloudbase pilots learning about all things to do with flying. I'm so glad I took up flying!

After a long-term career as ramp supervisor for British Airways engineering, Phil founded Cloudbase Aviation in 1987. Phil began training on Shadow fixed-wing microlights but has instructed on several aircraft types since. He has taught hundreds of students how to fly, and his chatty, approachable personality filters down through the entire flying school.

      Helen is the linchpin behind the successful running of Cloudbase Aviation’s club. With an eye for detail and exceptional organisational skills, Helen runs club functions and administration.

        Nick has been an integral member of the Cloudbase team for the last 5 years. Nick ensures the smooth running of the club with scheduling and ground support. He also instructs part-time for the RAF Air Cadets at the local squadron, and learnt to fly at Cloudbase.

          Will – Commercial Pilot
          Will began cleaning aircraft at Cloudbase Aviation at 14 years old. Cloudbase’s training led to his first solo flight at 16, private pilot licence acquisition at 17, and commercial licence at 19. He is now an airline pilot, alongside his flying at Cloudbase. He believes in a common-sense approach to training.
